Prepare minutes of all meetings that specify the type, place, time,
location, number of people present and the proceedings thereof
A membership register showing the names of the Members
The seal of the corporation
Maintain records, which include but are not limited to:
correspondence, grievances, books, agendas, elections results, that pertain
to the function of the Association.
Ability to:
Be familiar with legal documents (Bylaws, Robert's Rules, Articles of
Order, MOU, etc.)
Maintain updated and accurate membership list
Be available for general/emergency MEA business
Be available by email and telephone
Have excellent organizational, composition and records management
skills
Maintain confidentiality of Board discussions and records
Treasurer
Treasurer duties:
Make bank deposits
Reconcile monthly bank statement
Pick up mail bi-weekly at post office box and distribute
Accounts payable
Budget preparation
Prepare monthly payroll
Prepare quarterly and annual payroll taxes
W-2's and 1099's preparation
Prepare Annual Corporate Non-Profit tax return
Prepare monthly financial reports for Board Meetings and attend monthly
meetings
Prepare monthly payroll adjustments and submit to payroll
Reconcile monthly payroll deductions with insurance statements
Respond to employee inquiries in person, by phone and by e-mail
Cut additional checks as approved by Board at monthly Board Meetings for
additional expenses
Be available for MEA general/emergency business by e-mail and phone
Maintain files and computer files for financial records
Must be familiar with Quicken accounting program
Must have good customer service skills to respond to employee inquiries,
work closely with the President and Vice-President, the payroll department
and various insurance agencies
