If you receive an unacceptable performance evaluation, contact your MEA Board Director immediately for guidance and direction on how to proceed. Never ignore it.
If attempts at resolving an issue are unsuccessful and a grievance needs to be filed, please make sure that it is filed within thirty (30) days of the event giving rise to the concern. Contact your Board Director immediately for assistance.

Your contract offers Tuition Reimbursement up to $2750 per fiscal year. All courses require advance approval from your department and Human Resources.
The Santa Monica City Employees Coalition Benefit Trust was established by the coalition of bargaining units representing all permanent employees of the City, except Fire and Police sworn personnel. The Trust was established to provide reimbursement to retired employees for part of their health insurance premium
Under the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the California Family Rights Act (CFRA), employees may request up to 12 weeks (480 hours) of unpaid, protected leave due to the employee's own serious health condition; to care for a spouse, parent or child with a serious health condition; prenatal care; bonding with a newborn; childbirth; or placement of a child for adoption or foster care.
